Tracing the chronological dynamics of this involvement, the study highlights how Ukrainian researchers transitioned from initially representing folk and professional music to contributing broader coverage of composers, performers, regional music studies, and pan-European topics. Key figures analyzed include Filaret Kolessa and Osyp Zalesky (Riemann Musik-Lexikon), Aristide Wirsta (Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart, Larousse de la musique), Leszek Mazepa and Dmytro Kolbin (The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians), Nina Gerasimova-Persidska, and other prominent contributors from both Ukraine and the diaspora. The authors demonstrate that the scholarly activities of Ukrainian musicologists in international reference projects served as a crucial channel for integrating Ukrainian professional knowledge into the global academic space, while affirming the active agency of Ukrainian culture within European intellectual history.",
